In Tokyo, Stacey and I went to the mother of all fish markets, Tsukiji. It is, simply, the biggest fish market in the world. In addition to the providing a short resting place for the literally tons of whole tunas auctioned off each morning, tens of thousands of sea-things are sorted, sliced, opened, wrapped, shelled, stored, displayed, sold, and/or otherwise handled by some sixty thousand workers. It’s a dangerous place, and unmindful visitors can, at best, disrupt things, and, at worst, get run over by something like the turret trucks speeding by below:
